2023-24 Volunteer Appeal
‘As a volunteer, you’re made to feel an equal and valued member of the team. Volunteering with Citizens Advice is not only mentally stimulating but also very rewarding.’
Volunteers are at heart of how we deliver the Citizens Advice service, and our team of volunteers across Buckinghamshire are vital to the work we do; helping people access the information and advice they need to move forward with their lives.
Every year, in Buckinghamshire a dedicated team of over 90 highly skilled and trained volunteers provide vital, free advice to local people in need. Their dedication helps to make a real difference for many who are facing challenges with issues such as hunger, homelessness, overwhelming debt, welfare issues, and discrimination.
As we are amid the worst cost of living crisis the UK has seen for decades demand for our service is soaring. To help reach this increased demand we urgently need to recruit and train more volunteers. However, to train one volunteer over a six month period it costs our charity approx. £3,000. We are therefore looking to our supporters to ask you to help us fund 10 new volunteers who will provide additional advice to 2,000 people needing our help in Buckinghamshire.
If you haven’t donated already, we would be grateful if would you consider making a donation today to help us achieve our goal. Thank you.
£15 could enable a volunteer to offer immediate support to a struggling family providing them with an emergency food voucher and future advice session to explore ways to best manage their debt and enhance their income.
£25 could enable a volunteer to provide detailed advice to three clients via email on a range of issues from employment dismissal to securing energy vouchers.
£50 could support a volunteer to help a client with disabilities complete a PIP application, helping them to access the vital financial support they deserve and need.
