Over 4 in 10 turning to us have a mental health issue, and roughly the same number have disabilities. We help them claim benefits, negotiate housing issues and debts. We help people apply for benefits, tackle rogue landlords, or deal with discrimination issues at work.
We advocate on behalf of people that can’t easily stand up for themselves for social justice, running local and national campaigns for change.
Whatever is causing a problem in someone’s life we are here to tackle it with them, by their side. We believe everyone deserves a listening ear and the best advice when everything feels difficult.
Thousands more people need our help right now, but we don’t have enough funding to help everyone. Whilst we have grants from a wide range of sources, its donations like yours that make the difference.

Giving a donation today might just be what keeps someone in their home and prevents their eviction, or helps them to win their job back after being unfairly sacked, or helps an elderly person get the carer support they need, or a vital wheelchair.
Our team is made up of paid staff and volunteers, all of whom undergo rigorous training to become qualified advisers, all going that extra mile.
- Could pay for someone to get advice to get them out of debt
- Could provide support to help an elderly person arrange a carer to come in
- Could pay for a refugee to have an advice session and get their immigration status recognised
