We’re Panto excited!

As Wycombe Swan and Imagine Theatre prepare to open their enchanting family pantomime Beauty and the Beast, we are delighted to announce that we are their chosen nominated charity for this year.

This is great news for us as it helps us to further promote our Christmas Volunteer Appeal which aims to raise funds for 10 new frontline volunteer advisers so we can reach 2,000 more people across the county.

The support of Wycombe Swan and Imagine Theatre will help tremendously towards this appeal.  And whats even more lovely is that we are able to give 10 local families the opportunity to come along to the pantomime to enjoy the festive fun.

Each year we provide free advice and support to thousands of people in Buckinghamshire who are facing challenging times and struggling with issues including the risk of homelessness, overwhelming debt, and discrimination. The support and advice we provide is free of charge and delivered by our team of dedicated and highly skilled volunteers. We know it can make an invaluable difference to the lives of those we help- as you tell us!

As we enter the festive season amid the worst cost of living crisis the UK has seen for decades, thousands of people across Buckinghamshire are already struggling financially and for them, this time of year can bring a sense of dread.
We expect the demand on our service and our volunteers will increase and to meet this we need to recruit more.

Our CEO- Alice Copping says: “We are delighted to have been chosen as Wycombe Swan and Imagine Theatres nominated charity for this year’s Pantomime. Citizens Advice Bucks believes everyone should have access to free, good quality, confidential and independent advice when they really need it. Our volunteer advisers are at the heart of this, providing people with the knowledge and the confidence they need to find their way forward – whoever they are, and whatever their problem. The current cost of living crisis continues to have a devastating effect on people with limited money coming in, some who have never needed help before, and as a result demand for our help continues to soar. We need to recruit, train, and support more volunteers to provide this essential help to those who need us. However, we can not do this without the help and generous support of our donors and supporters and this is why we have launched our Christmas Volunteer Appeal to raise funds for 10 new frontline volunteer advisers to help us reach 2,000 more people across the county. By allowing us to be part of this year’s Panto, Wycombe Swan
and Imagine Theatres are not only helping us spread the word of our Christmas Appeal, but they are helping ensure local people know we are there for them now and into the future. “

Fiona Martin Theatre Director at Wycombe Swan says “At the Swan we are dedicated to supporting our local community and we couldn’t be happier to be working alongside the CAB team and are sure our audiences will be too.”

Steve Boden Imagine Theatre adds “We are very much a family run business and that is at the heart of all that we do and the shows we produce. The option to support such a needed service locally and give back to the community who support our pantomime at this difficult time is something that we leapt at. We hope this support helps CAB to reach their ambitious goals and opens our doors to some families who may not have been able to enjoy a family treat this Christmas”

So, why not give a very special and unique gift this year if you can. A one-off gift that will help us recruit more volunteers to provide a gift of life-changing advice that will be there long after the celebrations fade.
